HOME MADE GHEE (TUP)

Home made Ghee ( Tup )

The recipe that i am sharing today is most basic recipe with just one ingreindts "unsalted butter ". Making ghee at home is very easy if you have un salted butter.

Making ghee at home is not new. Ghee has been made in India since centuries. My Mom always prepares ghee from milk. We used to get raw cow milk , milk is rich in fat so we used to not drink nit raw. Mom used boil that milk , from this milk we get lots of malia or cream. This cream used to refrigerate and use in making ghee. This is a traditional method of making ghee from fresh cream.

In United States i did not find the same raw milk or we san say that amount of milk which i used to get in India to get fresh cream from it. Also in some countries selling of raw milk is banned. We find ghee at Indian Groceries stores , but they are very costly . Why to spend so much when you can make it at home within 20 to 25 min.

Cook time: 25 min
Total min 25 min.

Ingredients:- Unsalted Butter

Instruction :-

1. I have taken 453 grams of unsalted butter to make delicious home made sajuk tup (ghee), that's the      only ingreindts we need to make the ghee.

2 . The unsalted butter must be room temperature before starting the process.

3 .Take a heavy bottom pan and keep the butter cubes, keep the flame low till the butter melts completely.

4 . Once the butter melts completely increase the flame to medium and you will see the white foam depositing on the top.

5 . Keep Stirring until your butter starts to simmer,

6 . Next step out of that foam bubbles will start coming out of that foam.

7 . Now the milk solids starts to curdle and settles to the bottom of the pan ,at this time you will also notice the color change in the butter.

8 . After some time it will get translucent ,and the foam will completely disappear and the butter will take nice golden color

9 . Milk solid will settle and turn in brown color, Turn off the gas and remove the pan.

10 . Let the pan be cool for some time

11 . Take a stainer and place it on the storage can , strain the milk solids from the ghee.

12 . For a lightly  grainy texture in the ghee i usually add a pinch of salt in it and mix well before closing the lid of the jar.

13 . Our Home made ghee is ready.
